Central Texas - KWB Located approximately 15 miles to the north-northwest of San Angelo, Texas, the inactive KWB Unit was acquired by Sonoran and reactivation began early 2007. Originally developed in the Strawn formation as an oil field, Sonoran has targeted its initial reactivation of the field on gas production from the Canyon formation. An inventory of cased wells has allowed re-entry at minimal cost. Initial fluid separation is performed at the well sites, with liquids transferred to a newly-built central facility for final separation, storage, and transfer to sales. To bring about the rebirth of this field, Sonoran established a field base, opened old roads, cleared old locations, and affected the replacement of the aged pipeline system in the Phase 1 production area. With a large inactive well inventory at our disposal, with at least 5 recompletion zones under review, and with over 90% of the original estimated oil still remaining in the Strawn, investment in the KWB is concentrating on well re-entries. |
